Welcome to my website. What can I tell you? I picked up my first bass guitar when I was 14, but I had a love of music well before then. My parents used to play everything from Tony Orlando and Dawn to Merle Haggard, while my older brother listened to KISS. I liked just about everything I heard, and I was able to appreciate all the different styles of music for what they had to offer. The first album I bought for my Superman record player was "Mickey Mouse's Disco Hits." My second was "Back in Black" by AC/DC. Some of my other favorite bands were Van Halen, Rush, and Iron Maiden.

I had always wanted to learn about music and I took private guitar lesson when I was still very young. But after having negative experiences with poor teachers, I eventually stopped playing. I had also had unpleasant experiences in music class in school. I wanted to give music another chance and pick up an electric bass after seeing Steve Harris from Iron Maiden play.

This time I sought out music teachers who would give me positive experiences. I also studied music theory in high school and college. In the fall of 1993. I decided to really give music a shot and went out to Boston to study music at the Berklee School of Music. After transferring back close to home, I received my Bachelors in Music Education from Roosevelt University. My two greatest passions are to perform and teach music.

My bass influences include Marcus Miller, Jaco Pastorious, Rocco Prestia, Victor Wooten, and Steve Harris. I consider myself to be versatile in many different musical styles. I am currently accepting students on electric bass as well as other instruments. Besides performing with Double Forte, I am also currently performing with the versatile Chicago rock band, NRG.
