Guitarist, Eddie Kim was born and raised in Seoul, S. Korea. He started playing the guitar at age 14 and was influenced by playing of Jimmy Page, Brian May, Yngwie Malmsteen and Akira Takasaki, which was mostly rock'n roll at that time.

In 1987, he went to Suwon University, which he started his first band, "NaRae" at. The band gave him a lot of live experiences and management skill in music business. With NaRae, he appeared at lots of music festivals, such as 1991 KBS College song contest. But winning 1992 MBC Riverside Song Contest with post NaRae, “Puzzle” turned his career into music as a full time even though he got a Bachelor of Engineering in Industrial Engineering.

Winter of 1992, he decided to come to Chicago and started music career as a jazz student again at Chicago Musical College of Roosevelt University (The oldest music school in Midwest) he studied with a lot of great Chicago jazz musicians, such as Frank Dawson, Scott Mason, Mayo Tiana, Chip Goodalman and great classical composer, Dr. Rudy Marcozzi from Indian University.

Playing music with Japanese bassist, Kohki Ono in Chicago was great study and experiences for him, Kohki gave him a lot of motivation during this time. During school years at Roosevelt University, he was trained standard, latin and other mainstream jazz gendre like other students.

In 1996, He founded music firm called, Mainstream Interactive Media and started to produce and teach. He was pretty accomplished as a producer, he directed a few big church festivals, projects such as "Harelluya Praise Festival" and "Only Jesus", and concerts for community, and also contributed to local recording projects such as singer, Marcello Erwin.

But that wasn't quite thing he was into. finally, he finally decided to get back to Jazz fusion in spring of 1996 and formed a band, Double Forte with drummer, Dale Wilson who he met through advertise at local magazine and classmate, Bob Pape from Roosevelt. While he was working with double Forte, he also participated other project rock band, Debris. The band made quite successful history in Chicago and performed 26 shows from Jan to Aug 1998. A song, "Ride" was broadcasted by Q101 as a “Song of the week", Feb 18, 1998 by famous Local DJ "James Van Osdol". Meanwhile, he received a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies/Performance from the Chicago Musical College of Roosevelt University.

In spring of 1999, he recorded with Double Forte at Solid Sound Studio in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. Music Instructor at Elmhurst College, engineer/producer, John Towner participated on the project and John Summers from RK studio, which Debris also recorded at.

He also hosted a radio program, "Jazz Corner" at KBI (Korean Broadcasting Inc.) and writing column for Korean Times and jazz magazine, MMJAZZ in 1999.

Other than Double Forte, he is currently working on acid jazz project, “RHINO” with saxophonist, Pete Carney from Tyron Davis and Otis Clay bands. Both Double Forte and RHINO will release CD before the summer of year 2003.

His musical influences are from lots of great musicians over the world, he doesn’t try to criticize them because they're all great and talented, also he trys to learn every single things from them.
